Anna has dual British and New-Zealand nationality and grew up in Chester. She now lives in Stratford-Upon-Avon. She has a BA Honours Degree in Visual Studies and German from Oxford Brookes University, Oxford. She has lived and worked in the USA and Germany. She now paints full-time after giving up work in Publishing and Export Sales.
Anna aims to capture the feeling and atmosphere of a place in paint. She enjoys walking and is inspired by the landscapes she sees, painting from memory and photographs after hiking in the mountains of North Wales, NZ, and Madeira. Anna loves travelling and visiting cities in Europe and the UK, painting when she returns home. She endeavours to suggest the mood of a place, painting with quick brushstrokes, layering and scraping back the paint, using a variety of mediums: oils, acrylics, watercolour, ink, and charcoal. In June 2018, (aired in November 2018) she was a wildcard painter on Sky Arts, Landscape Artist of the Year at Inveraray Castle, Scotland. She exhibits at Warwickshire Open Studios and in February 2008, she had a solo exhibition at the Jane Powell Gallery in Kenilworth, Warwickshire. When she worked in Dusseldorf in Germany 2003-2006, she sold her paintings to English and American expats at Art Fairs in Dusseldorf alongside commissioned pieces. Her work is held in the UK, Germany, USA, New-Zealand, The Netherlands and Dubai.
