Please note that Chester Arts Fair 2020, is taking place between the 13th November to the 13th December as a Virtual Fair. We hope to host all the normal facilities in 2021, dates to be announced.

From Michelin starred dining since 1990 with ‘Simon Radley at The Chester Grosvenor‘ to independent bistros and high street favourites, this magnificent city can tick just about every box in terms of top quality, locally sourced produce and high-end international cuisine.

While you’re at Chester Art Fair why not make the most of the dining facilities Chester Racecourse has. The White Horse has prime position on the course, overlooking the pre-parade ring, 1539 has breath-taking views in comfotable surroundings and finally The Turf is a great place to visit for a lighter bite to eat.

If you’re heading to The Chester Grosvenor to take the weight off after a busy day art shopping, enjoy dining options in La Brasserie, The Arkle Bar & Lounge and of course fine dining options with ‘Simon Radley at The Chester Grosvenor’.

The White Horse

Set within the most unique location in Chester, the racecourse, we serve generous helpings of comfort food, alongside a selection of traditional beers, real ales and wines.

Weekends are all about relaxing with family and friends and what better way to spend your precious days off than with a laid back stroll around the Chester walls, a cheeky spot of shopping or a wander on the Roodee with the dog; followed by a leisurely bite to eat with the White Horse Chester.

They work closely with a carefully selected group of suppliers to ensure the best quality, seasonal produce is used in our dishes.  Little ones can explore the different sized ships in our outside play area, whilst mum and dad enjoy a drink from the outside bar and BBQ.

1539 Restaurant & Bar

1539 offers the most unique backdrop in which to enjoy a drink and a delicious meal in comfortable surroundings whilst taking in the breath-taking vista of the oldest racecourse in the UK. The menu offers twists on British classics alongside dishes inspired by flavours from across the globe.

Dine and Chill at La Brasserie

Revel in Chester’s stylish Parisian brasserie, serving grill favourites and French classics with lashings of panache. Let us tempt you with two delicious courses and a glass of Sommelier’s choice wine for just £25 per person.

La Brasserie is home to a striking hand-painting glass skylight, oozing French sophistication. One-of-a-kind in the city, discover the Josper grill serving traditional grill favourites … otherwise known as the hottest indoor barbecue in town!

Taste the Season in ‘Simon Radley at The Chester Grosvenor’

Indulge at Michelin starred ‘Simon Radley at The Chester Grosvenor’. Experience the delicious eight-course Tasting Menu prepared by Simon and his award-winning team. The perfect way to celebrate or simply enjoy a wonderful evening treat. A Vegetarian Tasting Menu is also available (please request this at the time of booking).

£99 per person Friday and Saturday

Afternoon Tea

If you’re looking for something lighter, look no further than the delicious Afternoon Tea, served daily in the Arkle Bar and Lounge. Choose from Traditional Grosvenor Afternoon Tea, Indulgent Champagne Afternoon Tea or even the Gentleman’s Afternoon Tea for the sophisticated man-about-town. The Turf at Chester Racecourse

The Turf Restaurant is situated on the ground floor of the County Stand and wil be open throughout the weekend of the fair. Samples from this year’s menu include:

‘Posh’ fish finger sandwich, brioche finger roll, battered goujons, crisp gem lettuce, chunky tartar sauce & lemon.

Charred Mediterranean vegetables, crumbled goat’s cheese, rocket & basil pesto, warm baked ciabatta.

Grilled halloumi, cracked wheat tabbouleh & fattoush salad.

Large scone with jam, clotted cream and butter.
