Shabs Beigh is a Cheshire (England) based artist who started his art career as a cartoonist/illustrator 25 years ago. He is currently selling through Saatchi and Paul Smith Design London.
He mainly paints expressionist abstracts, impressionistic landscapes and charcoal drawings of bulls and other animals like bison and horses. His all-time favourite artists are Van Gogh and Claude Monet. Beigh’s artworks are in different corporate and individual collections across India, England and the United States. He offers limited edition signed prints of his paintings and focuses on nature, landscapes, animals and birds. Beigh has completed a lot of paintings with reflections of nature in water or seascapes, painting water seems to be a pattern. Many of his paintings are blue which is the dominant colour in his pallet. Beigh’s favourite medium is acrylic on canvas and he has had commissions for murals as well as fine art works.
Beigh has an uncanny ability to convey the essence of the subject he is painting and works at an extraordinary fast pace. Watching him paint is like watching a matador in a bull fight. He attacks his canvas and steps back to observe, repeating this several times to create a unique, mesmerising piece of art. By nature Beigh is an intense, compassionate, fun, vibrant and full of life character.
He has done two solo exhibitions, one being held in England and the other in India.
In 2019, he exhibited at: Roots and Rifts at Espacio gallery in Shoreditch, London (27th Jan – 3 Feb)/Talented Art Fair in London (1st – 3rd March)/The Other Art Fair in LA (28th – 31st March)/Contemporary Art Fair Newbury (10th – 12th May)/The Other Art Fair Chicago (16th – 19th May)/The Other Art Fair in Santa Monica, California (5th – 8th Sep)/Manchester Art Fair (11th – 13th Oct)/Contemporary Art Fair at Windsor (8th – 10th Nov)/Chester Art Fair (15th – 17th Nov)
