Jerry Shearing

 Jerry’s work is based on the dynamic of nature and the interaction of nature with the elements … his work expresses his reaction to the sound, the smell, the colour, the texture, the movement and the interplay of sunlight, rain and wind within the natural environment. He works largely with acrylic paint on canvas using only the primary colours mixed on the palette or on the canvas itself. This allows him to harmonise naturally with the subject. he likes to take large canvases to the subject, this enables him to react and respond allowing his natural rhythms to guide his brush strokes and the colour to mix freely and in harmony. When he can’t do this he makes smaller paintings on location and then create larger works in the studio. He wants his audience to feel this dynamic interaction with nature and enjoy it as a performance captured. His influences come from the Impressionists, the Expressionists and the Abstract Expressionists.
