I have always drawn, as long as I can remember, I grew up on a farm in Mid Wales and I would spend the summers observing and painting the things around me and the winters copying images from any pictures I found in any national geographic magazine that I could get my hands on. I continued my love of art throughout my education and although my life has taken me down various different roads my passion for art is still strong.
I have recently started painting again and I love to get carried along with the process, it fulfils my creative needs as well as challenges my desire to create something beautiful. I am inspired by colour, light, and nature as well as fellow artists on Instagram. Artists that I admire and keep returning to again and again to absorb their wonderful use of colours are Clair Bremner and Miriam Lobo.
I have been busy; last summer I had a popup stall at the local summer fayre and then exhibited in November in a local gallery as a collective with other artisans. Lately, I have been busy with commissions which have brought with it the challenges of working to a brief. I frequently have requests for landscapes and this is a genre which I am exploring. I have found my love of painting again and really don’t want to stop. To become involved in the Chester Arts Fair would be a fantastic opportunity for me to show my paintings to a wider audience and give me my next challenge.
